ITINERARY

Pick up at the airport in Baltra. Later we will drive with the vehicle to the ranch “El Chato” in the highlands to see giant outdoor turtles. Guided exploration in Lava Tunnels and the Twin Craters. Bike down from the Santa Cruz highlands to Puerto Ayora

You will take a small road 2,500 meters long up to the access to Tortuga Bay. Enjoy a 2-hour hike (both ways) up to this beautiful beach, which is perfectly preserved, with wild animals such as iguanas and beach crabs. Tortuga Bay is a white sand beach located on the south coast of the island of Santa Cruz, kayak is optional. After lunch, you will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station where you will have the opportunity to learn about Galapagos conservation in action.

At 6:30 am, Ferry to Isabela, (2 hours). After lunch, we will visit “Las Tintoreras,” a chain of small islets full of the cove and hidden beaches. It has a bay where it is possible to see sea lions, marine turtles, iguanas, manta rays, etc. This bay is connected by a superficial crack with crystalline water which is closed off during low tide. Snorkeling to see the sharks from Blanca Point swimming with the rest of the tropical fish and sea lions.

You should be ready to walk through spectacular lava landscapes overlooking the volcanoes of northern Isabela and Fernandina. The hike is 16 km long to the Sierra Negra Volcano and the Chico Volcano. We will see the second-largest volcanic crater in the world. We will have lunch and the rest of the day is free. You can enjoy the beautiful beach in Isabela, or you can dive in the Laguna Concha de Perla (the free time snorkeling equipment is not included, but it can be hired locally)

Departure by boat to Cabo Rosa where lava flowed into the ocean and formed beautiful lava tunnels. There you will see penguins, blue-footed boobies, and sea turtles. However, the highlight is diving. You can see sharks, turtles, sea lions, rays, seahorses, and many tropical fish. The tour to Cabo Rosa lasts approximately 5 hours.

  • Important things to bring: Sun Hat, hiking shorts or light full-length hiking pants, water shoes with non-slippery soles, sandals, windbreaker jacket, sunglasses, shorts, dress or skirt, bathing suit, thin and breathable socks, and hiking shoes. Small backpack, water bottle, ziplock, dry bag, waterproof see-through phone pouch, waterproof sunblock, binoculars, camera, device chargers, towel, sunglasses, and your passport.
  • Inform yourself about food safety when traveling to tropical countries. Take the necessary precautions to avoid food poisoning (always wash your hands before eating, don’t eat street food, only eat peeled fruits, etc.)
  • It is mandatory to have valid travel and medical insurance. Please inform us of any known medical conditions you have.
  • Latin Adventures reserves the right to change the itinerary without prior notice due to weather conditions, availability, National Park regulations or notifications, and unforeseeable circumstances.

Failure to do so, Latin Adventures reserves the right to cancel the booking if it is not deemed possible to carry out packages and its activities.

  • If a trip is canceled due to acts of God, war, strikes, political unrest, volcanic eruption, earthquake, flooding, tropical storms, global disasters, or any emergencies such as pandemics, epidemics, or other circumstances beyond the tour operator’s or guest’s reasonable control, Latin Adventures will maintain with the original payment and cancellation policies as mentioned in this document.
  • Latin Adventures will not be subject to refunds for a proportion of the stay missed due to delayed or canceled flights before or during the journey to the hotel.
