About Mindo Cloud Forest Reserve!
Mindo’s highlights differ from other popular destinations in Ecuador. Gets swiped by the stunning natural attractions that surround it! A few days in Mindo give you enough time to see the sights and get to know the local wildlife and find some peace and quiet in contrast to the busy city´s life.
Trip to Mindo
Day 01: Hummingbird Garden – Hike in the forest – Mindo Frog Concert at night
It starts with the pick-up at your hotel in Quito and then gets stunning views of the Andes Mountains as you drive northwest to the unique Hummingbird Garden. See 15 to 20 different species of hummingbirds, depending on the season or time of the day, and try local tropical fruits.
Take a 1- 2-hour walk into the cloud forest to admire the diverse flora and fauna up close. Look for endemic species of plants and some birds found nowhere else on earth as you encounter a series of beautiful waterfalls. Lunch and free time to relax in the lodge. In the evening we will go to the “Mindo frogs concert” This show takes place nightly at 7:00 pm.
Day 02: Bird watching – free time for optional activities
Breakfast in the hotel. Breakfast in the lodge. Time to take spectacular pictures of some of the 500 birds species that this region has such as toucans, tanagers, hummingbirds, etc. with our expert naturalist guide in a birding tour. At around 11:00 a.m. free time to take optional activities this unique village Mindo offers to visitors such as zip line, tubing, rappelling, chocolate tour

The tour starts by visiting a frog pool, then proceeds around the lake into the woods, where the naturalist guide explains all about the flora and fauna of the cloud forest. Return to your hotel in Mindo.
